Elton John has confirmed he will ‘probably’ perform at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding next April.
The legendary singer was asked by Radio 2 presenter Steve Wright if he would be performing at the Royal nuptials, to which he replied “I probably am.”
Sir Elton was one of Princess Diana’s favourite musicians, and following her death he re-released his Candle in the Wind hit in her memory. The song became the biggest-selling single in UK history and Elton also performed at her funeral.
Other rumours surrounding the wedding include the possibility it could be screened in 3D and a bid from Charlotte Tod, the woman behind Kate’s famous see-through dress, to design her wedding dress.
The ceremony has been scheduled for 29 April in what will be a bank holiday bonanza for Britain. Prince William has promised to pack Westminster Abbey with members of the public for a ‘people’s Royal wedding.’
