An exquisite diamond ring which was made for the late Princess Margaret is expected to fetch a whopping £750,000 at auction.
The 5.16 carat gem was made for the Princess in 1970 and is one of the most flawless diamonds in the world.
It is part of Princess Margaret’s private collection currently on show at the Antiques for Everyone event at Birmingham’s NEC which will go under the hammer later this year.
Also on display is a solid gold Cartier wristwatch which the late Queen Mother, then Queen Elizabeth, gave to her daughter in 1940.
A four-poster bed which Princess Margaret was born on which features the Royal crest is also for sale for £275,000.
The Royal lots, which have been authenticated by Princess Margaret’s son Lord Linley, are being sold by Riverside Antiques, in Stamford, Lincs.
A spokesman said: “What is so compelling about the collection is that is it part of the fascinating and sometimes turbulent life of the Princess and many of these items were personally used or worn by her.
“They would almost certainly have been valuable sentimentally to the Princess.
“But like any good home, things from time to time do get sold off.
“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to purchase a piece of history as an investment for the next generation.”
Less expensive lots which belonged to the Princess, who died in 2002, also include a mother of pearl case and enamel boxes which are expected to fetch #3,000.
