A canny chef has finally come up with a way to get greens-hating people to eat their Brussels sprouts – DEEP-FRYING.
The new pop-up restaurant is dishing up portions of lightly-battered sprouts, which are being hailed as the answer to the most despised festive vegetable.
Sutton & Sons in Stoke Newington, north west London is also serving-up battered mince pies with a serving of brandy butter.
The shop is run by husband and wife Danny and Hana Sutton who also serve battered crème eggs and traditional deep fried Mars bars.
Danny said: “I’ve never been a huge fan of Brussel sprouts, so we tried battering them for the Christmas season and they are a great way to get everyone to tuck into those boy scouts.”
Each portion of the crunchy green balls costs £2.50, while the battered mince pies cost £3.50.
Hanna added: “The Mrs Sutton desserts have always been popular and we are really excited to add the festive favourite of mince pies with our own Suttons twists.”
