The death of six-year-old Megan Thrower has sent shock waves through her small Norfolk community.
A tribute to the tragic youngster, who drowned while on holiday with her family in Gran Canaria, was released by her primary school in Gayton, King’s Lynn.
John Marshall-Grint, headteacher of Gayton First School, described Megan as a ”happy, responsible and confident” child.
He said: ”Our school community has been left deeply saddened by the sudden death of Megan Thrower, a popular and hard-working member of year two.
”Our thoughts are with Megan’s family at this difficult time and we send them our sincerest sympathy and support.
”Megan was a polite, happy, responsible and confident girl and was always keen to impress with her work.
”She will be missed by us all and we will be doing all we can to support our pupils at this very difficult time.”
