David Beckham has boosted sales of Lego after revealing he is a huge fan of the iconic toy brand.
The former England captain revealed he spends hours of his spare time building Lego models – including the 5,922 piece Taj Mahal.
Now the Danish company has revealed sales of the £199.99 Taj Mahal set have rocketed by 663 per cent since the footballer’s endorsement during an interview on the BBC1 show Friday Night with Jonathan Ross.
Lego is so chuffed with the approval from ‘Brand Beckham’ it has invited the 35-year-old and his three kids Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz to the company’s headquarters in Billund.
A Lego spokesman said: “We have officially invited the Beckhams for a tour of the Lego factory in Denmark.
“We haven’t heard back yet as they are away, but we would love them to come.”
In 2008 the company immortalised David and Victoria Beckham with their own special figures to celebrate 30 years of Lego people.
