Kayleigh Box. A 28-year-old cystic fibrosis suffered died after contracting pneumonia when someone COUGHED next to her. See NTI story NTICOUGH. Tragic Kayleigh Box was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at just 11 months old after she became poorly and was not thriving. She was tested after her brother Kristopher, who was three at the time, was diagnosed just a week before. Kayleigh suffered years of endless pills, intravenous antibiotics, physiotherapy, nebulisers, hospital stays and appointments to battle cystic fibrosis. But her life was sadly cut short when she contracted bronchopneumonia from someone coughing near to her whilst she was out of the house. Kayleigh from Malvern, Worcs., died at Heartlands Hospital, Birmingham, surrounded by her family on January 17.
