Cristiano Ronaldo could become a dad for the second time after rumour circulated his girlfriend Irina Shayk is pregnant.
Newspapers in the Real Madrid star’s native Portugal are claiming the Russian model is expecting his child and that the pair are planning to tie the knot later this year.
Ronaldo already has one son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, who was born to a mystery British mother.
A friend told newspaper Correio da Manha: “Cristiano loves being a father.
“Although they weren’t planning a baby so soon, the truth is that nothing makes him happier than his son.
“And the birth of the boy awakened Irina’s desire to become a mother.”
The source also described how Ronaldo popped the question on Valentine’s Day.
“They had been talking about marriage,” the friend continued. “Cristiano wanted something very special and romantic, and on Valentine’s day he travelled to New York to surprise Irina.
“He asked her to marry him. At the moment there are lots of options open, but if it were down to Ronaldo’s mother the wedding would be in Madeira.”
Irina, 25, was snapped wearing a diamond ring after the couple met in New York on Valentine’s day.
Ronaldo’s management refused to comment on the rumours, saying: “We’re not authorised to talk about this.”
