A teenage girl was repeatedly raped by her father until she became pregnant – to provide a child for him and his infertile partner, a court heard.
The girl was just 16 when her father forced her to have sex with him every day for a month until she fell pregnant, it was claimed.
A jury at Cambridge Crown Court heard that he abused her in order to provide a child for his new partner, who had been left infertile following a hysterectomy.
The girl, who is now 19, gave birth to a baby boy in December 2008 and passed him off as the son of her ex-boyfriend – although she had never slept with him.
She finally spoke to police in March this year when she discovered her father making advances to a 14-year-old girl in the family home, it was said.
In a shocking police interview shown to the jury, the girl said: ”He started pestering me. I said I did not want to have sex with him, but he locked the bedroom door.
”I knew it was illegal to have sex with your father. I said it’s illegal and I do not want to get pregnant or get into trouble.
”That’s how I got pregnant. He told me not to tell anyone. He said he would take 1,000 tablets.”
The court heard that the teenager’s father threatened to kill himself if she told anyone about the abuse.
She only contacted police in March this year after she became concerned that her father was abusing her 14-year-old friend.
He denies three counts of rape, one of sexual activity with a child and one of sexual assault of a child, as well as perverting the course of justice.
The girl and her father, both from a village in Cambridgeshire, cannot be named for legal reasons.
The trial continues and is expected to last two weeks.
