A couple stunned beach cleaners when they donned wellies and started picking up beach litter – on their WEDDING DAY.
Phil Coombs and Clair Curgenven tied the knot at a ceremony Trevone Church near Padstow, Cornwall.
They went down to the beach to take their wedding snaps and soon realised a beach clean was in full swing.
Instead of returning to the venue, the happily married couple, with their guests, got stuck in and helped clear the beach of plastics.
Rob Stevenson, 49, organised the beach clean with his daughter, Emily, 21, on behalf of plastic campaign group Surfers Against Sewage.

He said: “It was amazing, they said they had hoped a beach clean was going to be going on so they could take part on the day itself.
“The whole wedding party came down to the beach and there was a really happy atmosphere.

“Claire’s mum has actually been cleaning the bay for years and it is one of the very clean ones as a result.
“People of all ages got involved from the wedding and they did it for a few minutes before carrying on with their day.
“It was certainly a first to see a bride and groom in their wedding attire join in for a beach clean. It was very exciting to see.”
