A town is divided over its unusual Christmas decorations after its cash-strapped council hung BRAS and SUSPENDERS along the high street.
The frilly underwear bunting has offended some residents in Langport, Somerset, who reckon the “miserable” display is insulting to Christians.
Appalled resident Dinga Bell said: “I have to say that I almost crashed the car in surprise. It is the worst display I have ever seen.

“It would have been far better that Langport council had hung nothing rather than this pathetic and pitiable display of abject misery.
“The message that it gives is not one of celebration of the birth of Christ.”
But Langport Town Council defended the decorations, which have replaced broken old lights that were too expensive to repair.
Deputy chairman Julia Gadd said: “There are other decorations on display.
“The bunting was just one of those ideas that came out of discussions by a group of people. There has been a mixed reaction, it’s true.”
