This is the funny moment police told a driver over their megaphone: “Throw your weed out – it smells like sh*t.”
Footage shows the NYPD officers making the amusing loudspeaker announcement after pulling a Smart car over in a traffic stop.
A New Yorker filmed the episode from his ninth floor apartment in Kensington, Brooklyn, and posted the clip on Snapchat.
The bystander said: “I’m not sure why he was pulled over but I heard sirens and started filming.
“My girlfriend said she thought it would be funny if something crazy happened so I continued filming.
“After the officer gave the Smart driver a ticket, they pulled up the speaker system and told the driver to throw their weed out because it smelt like sh*t.
“I could hear it and we were in a ninth floor apartment. I thought it was hysterical that they would announce it over the loud speaker. It seemed like a scene from Bad Boys.”
Marijuana is illegal in New York and both possession and recreational use are outlawed under federal and state law.
However, in June, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced plans to ticket people for consumption rather than arresting them from September.
New York Police Department said: “We are aware of the video and there is no additional information at this time.”
