A police officer has been sacked after sending colleagues obscene pictures and videos – including clips featuring depraved sex acts.
James Addison was fired from his job with Scotland Yard’s Diplomatic Protection Group for sending the sex images to fellow officers from his phone.
Addison, of Rayleigh, Essex, was also find £6,000 after admitting 11 counts of publishing an obscene article during a hearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
An internal panel fired the constable after finding his conduct was discreditable.
Deputy assistant commissioner Fiona Taylor, of the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards, said: “We set the highest standards for our officers.
“They know the law and that the sharing of obscene images is illegal.”
Addison was one of 14 officers investigated for either criminal offences or misconduct after the sick porn ring was discovered.
Eight of the officers were based in the Diplomatic Protection Group and two officers are based on boroughs, including a Detective Sergeant.
The Detective Sergeant and three other officers have had misconduct allegations dropped but nine other officers, all constables, are on restricted duties pending an internal investigation.
