Rock giants Coldplay played a Christmas gig at a country pub – and left regulars fuming when they were locked out.
The megaband took to the floor at the Ring O’ Bells in sleepy Compton Martin, Somerset along with teenage heartthrob Connor Maynard and 90s legends Chas ‘n’ Dave.
The pub is owned by Miles Leonard, chairman of the stars’ Parlophone record label who organised the bash for staff and selected VIPs.

Guests including Lily Allen also saw Becky Hill and Lewis Watson perform and the party went on until the early hours.
Word quickly spread around the village but locals found they were not welcome with a heavy security presence turning them away from the door and not even allowing cars in the car park.
One villager said: “It’s just annoying, it’s a local pub and we’re the ones that keep it going all year round.
“They do this once a year and we are never invited. So many locals come here and they feel so let down – without us the pub wouldn’t still be running anyway.

“It’s just a bit gutting that we’re stood out in the rain and we can’t even go in. It feels like our little local pub is becoming too commercial.
“I saw Chris Martin leaving earlier – which made my night. He left before 9pm though which I thought was quite surprising.”
Many of the guests were ferried to and from the event in Mercedes Vitos with heavily blacked out windows.
Others had their own tour vehicles as well as chauffer driven cars that took them too and from the event.
Mr. Leonard, who lives locally, took over the pub with a group of friends last year and singer Gabrielle Aplin performed at the launch party.
In 2010 his influence persuaded Kylie Minogue to play at the pub.
