Children’s charities have issued a warning as youngsters searching for videos of the latest Pokemon computer game are being redirected – to hardcore porn sites.
The new games ”Pokemon X” and ”Pokemon Y” are not available until later this year and trailers have yet to be released.
But eager youngsters who are searching the web for promo clips or trailers are using the search terms ”Pokemon X videos”.

The top two results on Google for the search lead directly to adult-website XVideos.com, a top pornography site.
The Pokemon series of games, published by Japanese software giant Nintendo, are aimed at children.
Children’s charity NSPCC said parents need to be more vigilant when allowing children to use the internet.
A spokesman said: “This highlights how the internet can be a Wild West, sometimes leading to children being exposed to totally unsuitable material.
“Parents can try and protect them by ensuring computers are kept in communal areas at home so they can see what they are viewing and have safety controls switched on.
“But no filtering system is 100 per cent effective. This is a growing problem which needs to be tackled so children do not stumble across porn sites.”
Many people took to Twitter to criticise the name of the two newest games – which will be released on the Nintendo 3DS in October.
John Kirk, from Maidenhead, wrote: “Nintendo, good work Googling the name before you chose it.”
A spokesperson for The Pokemon Company International said: “The best resource for Pokémon information is our official site – www.pokemon.co.uk
“We recommend parents direct their children there, where they can always be certain it’s a safe and entertaining experience.”
