The Geordie starlet, 27, spoke candidly to Heat magazine about her feelings for the 30-year-old Chelsea footballer a year after their relationship came to an end.
She said: “For me, it’s not my past, it’s very much my present.
“We were meant for each other.”
She continued: “I will always love him, always. He’s a big part of my life.
“I don’t think he ever wanted to let it go. We had a great relationship. He was my best friend.”
She told another interviewer: “There is a part of me that will always love him and love what we had.”
The singer also told Heat that she has no plans to remove the ‘Mrs C’ tattoo on the back of her neck.
She said: “I get a tattoo when things happen in my life that mean something. I’m not ashamed of anything. I’ve got nothing to rub away.”
