Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher is the bookies’ favourite to be the first to foul Chelsea new boy Fernando Torres when the two teams clash this Sunday.
Torres, 26, signed for Chelsea from Liverpool on transfer deadline day for a British record £50 million.
And Carragher, a die-hard Liverpool man, is the man bookmakers think will be the first to clatter the once golden boy of Anfield at Stamford Bridge.
The 33-year-old defender, who is likely to start after recovering from a dislocated shoulder suffered in November, is available at 6/1 from William Hill with Martin Skrtel 7/1 second favourite.
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, who will undoubtedly go in hard on his former teammate, is 9/1.
A spokesperson for William Hill said: “Of course not one Liverpool player will wish Torres anything other than a successful career at Chelsea, nor will any of them wish to be found guilty of foul play against him.
“But it is inevitable that one or more of them will foul him, and we rate Jamie Carragher as the most likely to do so first.”
Torres has admitted he wants to score against his former club this weekend as he looks to make an instant impact for the rejuvenated London club.
One man unlikely to feature against his former club is Liverpool man Joe Cole who tweaked his knee in training and is a doubt for the match.
Sunday’s clash is expected to reach fever pitch with fans of both teams exchanging insults on the internet.
Chelsea fans have already re-worked Liverpool’s famous Fernando Torres song while a pair of sports journalists supporting either team were involved in a war of words on social networking site Twitter.
