A junior chef from a top Jamie Oliver restaurant has been handed a suspended jail sentence for taking part in a booze-fuelled fight.
Christopher Emmins, a trainee at upmarket restaurant Fifteen Cornwall, and two thug pals punched and kicked victim Martin Hewison outside a pub in February.
The 24-year-old pleaded guilty to affray and was given a nine-month prison sentence suspended for eighteen months at Truro Crown Court.
Emmins, of Pool, Cornwall, was taken on at Fifteen Cornwall under TV chef Oliver’s scheme to help disadvantaged young people.
Bosses at the Watergate Bay eatery vowed to stick by him last night.
Chief executive Matthew Thomson said: “We are committed to helping him over personal behaviour challenges and confident that Fifteen Cornwall will help him with that.”
