Liverpool have failed to secure the signing of Blackpool star man Charlie Adam.
The two clubs failed to reach an agreement with Blackpool confirming Adam “will get a great move in the summer.”
Adam is reported to be “distraught” at the decision while Sky Sports reported a heated discussion taking place at the club’s Bloomfield Road ground.
Liverpool’s failure to capture the talented midfielder will disappoint Kenny Dalglish who would have seen Adam as a perfect supplier of crosses to giant striker Andy Carroll who is expected to complete a club record £35 million move from Newcastle.
The club may now turn their hand to a last-gasp bid for Aston Villa’s Ashley Young as Dalglish looks to add some width to his Liverpool team.
Blackpool, meanwhile, have completed the signing of Andy Reid from Sunderland and secured a loan deal for Glasgow Rangers’ James Beattie.
