A cat and her new born litter of kittens have been rescued after they were found huddled – in a disused barbeque.
The mother cat gave birth to six babies after taking shelter in the outdoor cooker in Torrignton, Devon.
They were found snuggled up in a barbecue in a back garden by a stunned homeowner on a stormy night in October.

Animal rescuers were called and took the domestic cat and her kittens away and sadly three died because of the cold and wet.
But the mum and her three surviving offspring have been nursed back to health by North Devon Animal Ambulance – who are now appealing for a new home.
Founder Diana Lewis said: ”Six kittens were born but sadly three died because of the cold and wet.
”The three surviving kittens were very frail and had to be kept in the intensive care unit for a week.

”We believe the mother cat may be domestic because she is very friendly. A woman phoned us to say she heard the newborn kittens crying.
”The mother and her kittens are extremely lucky. The kittens were so cold they had turned a blue colour.
”Now they are strong and ready to find new homes after the New Year. They have had a bad start in life and deserve to have a loving home.”
