These were the scenes of drunken depravity when students descended for a Brazil-themed beach party on a drizzly night – in landlocked BIRMINGHAM.
World Cup fever came to city for the controversial Carnage UK event, which saw hundreds of undergraduates hit the town on Sunday night.
But unlike the Brazilian beauties on the Copacabana Beach 5,500 miles away there was no such carnival atmosphere in the Second City.
Instead groups of students filled up on cheap booze before spilling out and causing chaos along the city’s Broad Street club and bar district.
Groups of students kitted themselves out in the official Carnage t-shirts – with most girls wearing tiny green-and-yellow shorts.
The scantily-clad party-goers could be seen stumbling around the city centre until the early hours of yesterday morning.
One worse-for-wear lad was pictured lying in a pool of his own VOMIT while another girl was helped by two pals as she is sick into a blue bucket by a pile of wheelie-bins.
Other revellers could be seen passed out in the street having downed to much cheap booze while some helped their stumbling pals from falling over.
At one point a rowing couple can be seen almost coming to blows with a woman grabbing her partner around the neck after being ejected from one of the bars.
Dubbed Britain’s most debauched student event, organisers have previously been criticised in the past for encouraging binge drinking and anti-social behaviour.
The Carnage UK events are run by Varsity Leisure Group, a multi-million-pound business that puts on hundreds of pub crawls throughout Britain.
In 2009, 19-year-old student Philip Laing desecrated a poppy wreath in Sheffield and was later ordered to carry out 250 hours of community service and pay #185 cost after admitting outraging public decency.
