Lucy Lowe from Sidmouth, Devon, with her children Barnaby aged 11, Lydia aged 13, Tilly aged 15 and Callum aged 16. Lucy has been living in the Ottery St Mary hospital in Devon, after an operation left her paralysed. See SWNS story SWTRAP; A mum-of-four who was left paralysed following an operation has been stranded in hospital for almost a year after she was refused a grant to make her home accessible. Brave Lucy Lowe, 37, was in constant pain after damaging her coccyx when she went down a death slide – at her own wedding reception. Following more than two years of agony she had the tail bone removed, but a short while later she caught an infection and became paralysed from the waist down. After intensive treatment and physiotherapy, Lucy was deemed medically fit and told she could return home, but nearly one year later she remains in a hospital bed.
