Britain’s doziest driver clocked up a staggering 55 parking tickets – in just one year.
The defiant motorist has had his VW Golf slapped with a total of £3,850 in fines from Birmingham City Council – the equivalent of paying to park in a city centre car park for two years.
Traffic wardens caught the car parked illegally all over the city and in a number of Birmingham suburbs, figures released today revealed.

The motorist, who has not been named, topped the list of repeat parking offenders followed closely by a Renault Megane owner who received 52 tickets between 2011 and this year.
In the affluent Edgbaston suburb of the city – where houses top £1 million – four drivers notched up a whopping £28,700 between them over 12 months.
Councillor Tahir Ali said the local authority would crack down on motorists who park illegally.
He said: “The problem has been so bad in some parts of the city, buses had to divert.
“There are sufficient parking spaces, but some members of the public are simply not prepared to walk for five minutes after leaving their vehicles.
“Restrictions are there for a reason. If you park illegally you are restricting vision and placing children and the elderly at risk.”
