A bride broke both her feet on her wedding night by over-excitedly dancing B*Witched’s C’est La Vie.
Lyndsey Henderson, 30, boogied along the the hit 90s song with her 100 guests having already perfected the dance routine at her first wedding reception in Santorini, Greece a week earlier.
Both Lyndsey and husband Sean Henderson, 28, who met each other at a gym in 2013, chose to hold a second wedding reception at Cadbury’s Factory in Birmingham last Saturday.
But an over-zealous jump in the air saw the new bride land on the sides of her feet causing a hairline fracture in her right foot and three broken bones in her left foot.
Miraculously the newlywed did not notice she had broken her size 5 feet and continued dancing until 2am.
It was not until two days later that the primary school teacher from Longbridge, Birmingham, took a trip to Queen Elizabeth Hospital A&E that she would need to wear two casts and rest up for the next six weeks.
Lyndsey said: “I chose not to drink as I wanted to remember the night with all my loved ones.
“Now there’s no chance in that!
“I just went absolutely crazy as it’s one of my favourite songs and was the first one I bought on cassette in 1998!
“It was around 11pm and the DJ put the song on and I was doing my best Michael Flatley with all my bridesmaids.
“Then when I went a bit freestyle I managed to jump up and land on the sides of my feet.
“At first I didn’t realise what had happened. I noticed I landed funny but didn’t give it a second thought.
“I kept on dancing for another six songs and even had a dance with my dad to Wonderful Tonight afterwards.
“It wasn’t until the next day when I started walking a bit weird on my left foot that I thought something was up. But I just thought it was a sprain.
“I spent the Sunday with Sean just watching movies and chilling out.
Thankfully for the newlyweds Lyndsey’s injury will not affect their honeymoon – as the couple won’t be jetting off to Barbados until next April.
“The doctors said straight up I would not be able to fly so we dodged a bullet there!
“I still have a bit of the school summer holidays to rest up so I will be fit to go back to work.
“We spent two-and-a-half years planning it all, had the perfect wedding in Santorini, a great wedding reception and this is how it ended up!
“But it could have been worse and I find it quite funny.
“Sean returned from his first day back at work to me with two casts on my legs.
“His reaction was complete shock.
“He’s been an absolute angel and has been waiting on me hand and foot.
“After all our vows did say in sickness and in health!”
