London Mayor Boris Johnson gave Barbara Windsor a cheeky kiss today as they joined forces to encourage Brits to organise more community events.
Eccentric Boris, 46, wants local authorities to scrap bureaucracy which prevents local residents from organising fetes and street parties.
He teamed up with former Eastenders actress Windsor, 73, at Tower Hamlets, London, to promote a scheme encouraging community projects.
He said: ”The spectacle and excitement of the Royal Wedding is the perfect catalyst for street parties and I hope that it will spark a growing movement of communal activity.
”London is a truly fantastic city, but we all have such busy lives and many of us don’t know or trust our neighbours.
”As a born and bred Londoner, Barbara understands the importance of community and has the charm and wit to galvanise an army of community spirited citizens.”
