Blacksmith creates stunning replica Iron Man suits and helmets

A superhero fan has turned his hobby into business – selling giant replica IRON MAN suits and helmets.

Talented Angel Sunley, 33, decided to try and make a helmet from the popular comic after injuring himself at work as a blacksmith in 2007.

He uploaded a video of the amazing mask to the Internet and received messages from fans around the world asking him to create one for them too.

Angel began selling the fibreglass helmets for £150 – and has since expanded his collection to include suits for video game Halo and 1980s icon RoboCop.

He has a stack of orders for 2013, with fans in America ordering super hero suits, helmets and plaques.

The comic book fan, from Henstridge, Somerset, said: “I snapped my shoulder in 2007 working as a blacksmith which kept me off work for just under a year.

“While I was off I decided to make an Iron Man helmet out of paper and then into fibreglass.

“It only started as a hobby but it seems people are willing to spend their money on this sort of thing.

“It’s a dream job for me – I am a huge fan of the Marvel comics, computer games and films.”

Angel has recently secured his own workshop for his business, after previously constructing his masterpieces at home in his garage.

He added: “The year ahead should be fantastic – we have the new Halo game, Iron Man 3, Thor 2 and the new Gears of War.

“I am also hoping to make a warthog vehicle from the Halo series.

“My wife, Faye, is really supportive and has been from the very start and helps me with some of the painting.”

He is hoping to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in a full Iron Man suit to raise money for cancer in memory of his late mother Heather, who died from the disease 11 years ago.
