The world’s first support system for BINGO WINGS was launched today – which works like Spanx to suck in flabby skin.
Ch’Arms slim down the upper arms by holding in loose skin while minimising the stomach and highlighting cleavage.
The product works in a similar way to Spanx, the hugely-popular ‘body shaping’ undergarments which instantly provide a more flattering figure.
American actress Kathy Najimy, 53, invented Ch’Arms as a final solution for bingo wings – the large flabby flaps of skins which hang underneath the triceps also known as ‘bye byes’.
She claims the spandex, cotton and sheer mesh garments will give women the confidence to wear closer-fitting clothes.
Ch’Arms were launched the day after a poll backed by Dame Helen Mirren and Lulu revealed that bingo wings are the most hated part of women’s bodies.
Mother-of-one Kathy, who has appeared in dozens of hit US TV shows including King of the Hill, Ugly Betty and new film Step Up 3D, said she developed the product from a personal need.
She said: ”Ch’Arms is a garment problem-solver.
”For those of us who love the look of short sleeve garments but sometimes choose to have our arms covered, Ch’Arms gives us the best of both worlds.
”No more bulky layers either under or over your cute shirt or dress.
”Ch’Arms is lightweight and seamless and allows its wearer to feel comfortable and confident, covering your arms without covering your garment or body.”
Kathy, who lives in Los Angeles with Dan Finnerty, her partner of 15 years, designed Ch’Arms to be worn under short sleeved and sleeveless tops and dresses.
The £20 ($29.90 USD) garment comes in six colours – black, white, nude, grey, mocha and plus and three different fabrics for varying levels of support.
Sheer evening mesh Ch’Arms allow a woman’s top or dress to ”stand out”, Control Ch’Arms target bingo wings, while Cotton Ch’Arms are a more ”casual” option.
Ch’Arms covers the stomach, arms and back – but leaves the breast area exposed so it can be worn with any neckline and does not interfere with the wearer’s bra.
The product is currently only being stocked in America but it is hoped it will soon hit UK shelves as demand increases.
Chuck Anderson, senior vice president of merchandising for American shopping channel HSN – which launched the product with Kathy – said the product was ”exciting”.
He said: ”HSN is thrilled to work with Kathy to offer the everyday woman an easy fix for her wardrobe challenges.
”We’ve admired Kathy’s work for years, and to be able to bring her innovative design concept to our engaging customer base is an exciting opportunity for us all.”
Ch’Arms are available at HSN, www.hsn.com.
It’s a solution, but I think something with sleeves would look a bit more stylish…
