Sherlock Holmes actor Benedict Cumberbatch says in real life he is more like – Dr Watson.
Cumberbatch, 36, also says Martin Freeman – who plays Watson in the BBC series Sherlock – is actually more like the legendary detective.
Benedict has become a huge star across the world by playing Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s iconic investigator.
But he says when he’s off screen he is nothing like Holmes – and is more like his sidekick Dr Watson.
Benedict made the relevation while appearing at the Literature Festival in Cheltenham, Glos.
Asked which of the characters he most resembled in real life, he replied: ”I’m a Watson, I’m much more of a follower.
”Martin’s got far more intuitive brilliance and intelligence than I have.”
