A popular BBC radio presenter has died - a month after he bravely told listeners live on air that he had terminal cancer. Andy Potter, 55, who had been with BBC Radio Derby for 17 years, was equally at home interviewing A-list celebrities, such as Sir Roger Moore or Sir Cliff Richard, as giving a talk to the local WI. Although Andy had been ill and losing weight before Christmas, his condition was not fully diagnosed until January 25 when he was told he only had "months to live", as the cancer was affecting his liver and kidneys and was inoperable. But in true Potter-style, when asked about his reaction to the shocking news, he quipped: "I've had better days."
