An artist has transformed plain pictures of family pets into these magnificent regal PAW-TRAITS.
The dogs and cats are seen like never before dressed up like royalty in historical-looking masterpieces.
Joel Simard, 26, uses photo-editing software to customise the ordinary family snaps with velvet robes and antique battle gear.

He said: “People absolutely love them, they’re really great fun!
“It really just started as a hobby thing, honestly it was just for fun – now I’m thinking about doing this full time and giving up my job for it!
“I first made one for my friend about a year ago – she has a grey cat – and someone saw that and they wanted one, and it’s gone on like that since then.
“Over the last couple of months I’ve made about 40 – I just find old images online that no longer have copyright and I use them on Photoshop.”

Pet-lovers can purchase the customised portraits for around £56, which are printed on canvas before being framed.
Joel said: “You can hang your portrait over your mantelpiece to show everyone that your pet is dignified royalty.
“They will last you for years and can be passed down from generation to generation so your pet’s legacy can last forever.”
Joël lives alone in Winnipeg, Manitoda, Canada and is a supervisor at Costco.
