The millionaire boy racers are back and already behaving badly after one owner had his £350,000 Tron-style Lamborghini seized.
Wealthy playboys from the Middle-East descend on London every summer in their supercars, angering locals with their often outrageous driving.
Now one young man, understood to be a member of Qatar’s ruling Al-Thani family, has fallen foul of the law in his Lamborghini Aventador.
A ticket issued showed that Nasser Al-Thani, 24, was pulled over on Wednesday evening on Brompton Street in Knightsbridge just a stone’s throw from his family’s corner shop, Harrods.
When he couldn’t prove he had a driving license or the correct insurance, the car was impounded.
Three officers on motorcycles then waited for a low-loader to arrive as dozens of onlookers gathered around the ostentatious motor.
When the truck arrived, an officer slowly drove it onto the back before it was transported to a local pound.
The young man’s fuschia-coloured Lamborghini, which is thought to glow in the dark like something out of the Tron movie, was also missing its front registration plate.
Dozens of onlookers gathered to photograph the ostentatious scissor-doored supercar, which has been customised by a Japanese tuning company.
One fan said: “It is great when the wealthy foreign tourists come over to London every summer as you always see these amazing supercars.
“The Lamborghini looked like something out of Tron, it was absolutely stunning.
“Hopefully there was just some confusion over the correct paperwork and it will be back on the road soon.”
The Lamborghini Aventador is one of the world’s fastest supercars.
It is powered by a 6.5-litre V12 engine which gives a 0-62mph time of 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 217mph.
The wealthy Middle-Eastern playboys were the subject of a Channel 4 documentary, ‘Millionaire Boy Racers’, earlier this year.
In the film, furious residents criticised the young men for their dangerous driving in the capital, claiming they were ruining the area for locals.
The Al-Thani family are renowned for their wacky supercars and, three years ago, they hit the headlines when their blue Lamborghini and Koenigseggs were clamped outside Harrods.
Whether their supercars are seized or not it is really not a problem. These Arab boy racers add colour and glamour to London during summer. Local residents certainly will complain as they are jealous and cannot afford such cars or such glamour.
