Tennis ace Andy Murray has revealed how he relaxes between matches – by pretending to be a PENGUIN.
The Scot, currently playing David Ferrer in a semi-final at the Australian Open, is normally known for his serious attitude and occasional temper tantrums but displays his comic side in the online video.
World number five Murray competes with brother Jamie as the pair waddle in front of the camera to perform their best impressions of the flightless bird.
And mum Judy even gets in on the action as she takes her turn.
The Murray brothers can be seen laughing and hugging each other as comedy music plays along to the minute-long clip posted on the internet today.
Jamie, 24, added a link to the footage on his Twitter account, urging fans to watch and judge for themselves.
He tweeted: ”Came bk from Melbourne Aquarium with a penguin impression, Andy Murray says his is better, u tell me.”
And within a minute he was offering viewers the chance to win a signed Australian Open shirt by showing their own penguin impressions.
He said: ”If you think urs is better post a video to my twitter or my facebook and win an AO player shirt signed by Andy Murray and me . . . Closes 4th feb.”
Andy, 24, smiles as he sticks his arms out by his sides and takes tiny steps to show his impersonation.
He dissolves into laughter as he hugs Jamie before the younger sibling takes his turn.
The pair can be seen waddling together at one point before Andy urges his mum out of her seat to do the same.
Two days ago Jamie tweeted his brother asking if he was ”ready for the competition” and Andy replied: ”of course I’m ready, been practicing it for the last few days, what do I win?”
The Dunblane family were in Melbourne for the Australian Open but Jamie returned to his London home this week after he and Belgian playing partner Xavier Malisse were knocked out the doubles competition.
His younger brother Andy yesterday faced Spaniard David Ferrer in the singles semi-finals.
But the British number one has still found time to watch the football.
Using his Twitter account, where a comment line states simply ”I play tennis”, he told Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand: ”Got to get through the quarters first big man! Man U on fire right now, keep up the good work.”
Judy, who is in the front row of every match Andy plays, has been there for him in his career since his very first matches against his brother in the living room.
She’s a tennis nut herself and keeps the Murrays’ legions of fans updated on their progress through Twitter.
But she had to admit one spectator got muddled over who they were supporting as she appeared to refer to Britain’s previous hopeful Tim Henman.
The 51-year-old tweeted: ”A rather elderly lady has just stopped me and said, ‘we are praying that Tim will win’. Clearly been out in the sun too long. Haha.”
