This set of remarkable images shows how a muddy puddle in sub-zero temperatures which transformed an hedge – into a GLACIER.
Cars travelling through the puddle of water in Otley, West Yorks., had splashed up the freezing water which solidified as it clung to the vegetation on a quiet country lane.
The icicle phenomenon was captured during a cold snap in Yorkshire following a visit from the Beast from the East earlier this month.
Sue Coates, who took the pictures on March 18, said: “I couldn’t believe it when I saw these images – they really are spectacular.
“I was driving past and I had to stop my car because I had never seen anything like it before.”
