With 2013 drawing to a close, now is the perfect time to reflect upon the musical offerings of some of the biggest names in the music industry.
There have been a number of artist returns including Justin Timberlake and Franz Ferdinand and the albums they have delivered are simply outstanding.
Music has been prominent throughout 2013 and there have been a number of highly successful songs that have shaped the year. Music enthusiasts have purchased their favourite albums through download charts and CD’s, many albums of which are produced by companies such as www.discmakers.co.uk, showing just how important it is to the audience to fully engage in music.

There are still some highly anticipated releases due before the year is out but there are 5 albums in particular that have dominated the year of music so far…
1. Justin Timberlake – The 20/20 Experience
Justin Timberlake has always been a huge name in the music industry through his time in N’Sync and his solo career, which followed. After a break from singing, Timberlake finally released his long anticipated third studio album, which more than fulfilled expectations. His close workings with Jay-Z gave the album a more urban feel, a step away from the usual pop offerings from Timberlake. Justin was rewarded with a prestigious MTV VMA award through the success of his latest album and the tours with Jay-Z sold out in minutes.
2. Bruno Mars – Unorthodox Jukebox
Mars began his musical career song writing and contributing to songs such as ‘Nothing on you’ with B.O.B. Finally he released his first album that met overwhelming success, the second offering from Mars has overshadowed the first with a number of highly popular songs that have led to sold out tours and regular number one chart positions. Mars is unlike most pop singers and his rock and soul inspired sounds make him stand out in the industry. The album reached number one on the US billboard charts and continues to remain highly placed, as its success shows no sign of waning.
3. Franz Ferdinand – Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action
The classic sounds of Franz Ferdinand combined with their long absence from the music world has seen this album soar through the charts and finally fulfil the needs of Franz fans. The guitar rifts, catchy songs and strong beats are the epitome of this group and there are few bands out there that boast a similar style. There was little promotion around the album and it came as an unexpected surprise to many, but its success shows the loyalty of fans and the way Franz Ferdinand are able to dominate the charts with just their music.
4. Arctic Monkeys – AM
The first release from the Arctic Monkeys made music history when it became the fastest selling album of all time after selling 360,000 copies in its first week. The group have had a lot to live up to and they are yet to disappoint. The latest album titled AM, has emulated the success of their first album and is actually their fifth studio album to date. The album included guest performances from big names in the music industry, many that you would not expect to work with the Indie group. A combination of rock and roll and R&B has created a different musical feel to this release although continues to reflect the Arctic Monkeys classic sound.
5. Justin Timberlake – The 20/20 Experience Part Two
Although this album is yet to be released, it simply has to form a part of the best albums of the year. There have been glimpses of the music that is to be expected and the second part of the 20/20 experience looks set to emulate if not exceed the success of the first. Justin Timberlake has secured his place in the music industry even after a long absence and not only is he offering his typical style reminiscent of Michael Jackson, but the addition of Jay-Z creates a more soulful and rhythmic style. Part two will certainly become one of the best releases of the year if not the decade.
