The traditional ‘little black dress’ for the Christmas party season could be kept in the wardrobe this year – as fashionistas turn to frocks with tribal AFRICAN PRINTS.
Designs originating from the content had been overlooked for winter occasions but recent catwalk breakthroughs have put the native patterns back on centre stage.
The Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Africa caught the eye of many designers in the West with bright, patterned garments.

African inspired label Sasaako has now released a collection of vivid African print dresses for the party season.
The label, founded in 2004 by British Ghanaian designer, Aba Sasaako, is best known for quirky one-off African printed dresses.
Their latest collection features two key shapes: a slim-line over-the-knee shift dress and a fit-and flare v-necked long sleeved dress. Both shapes have been designed to flatter the figure and carry Aba’s bold prints exceptionally well.
The collection includes several one-off dresses, while other pieces have been produced in quantities of six or fewer.
The fabrics have been carefully chosen to add a pop of colour for the festive season and beyond; great for women looking for an alternative to the LBD. Prices start at £139.
