This cute abandoned cat has become a heart-throb with animal carers after they noticed she bore a unique marking on her side – a perfect HEART.
Black and white ‘Bette Davis’ was handed in to Gables Farm Dogs’ and Cats’ Home last month looking dishevelled and emaciated after she was dumped by her previous owners.
But staff at the home in Plymouth, Devon, were stunned when they went to pick up the black and white two-year-old cat and spotted the distinctive heart-marking on her side.
Carer Katie Barkell said: ”We were gobsmacked when we first saw her. The heart shape is perfect and completely unique.
”She’s become a real hit here at the home but for some reason she still hasn’t been take in.
”We’re desperate for a caring family to come forward and take her in as she has such a lovely temperament to match the markings on her side.
”She can be a little timid and shy at times but loves it and purrs when you pick her up and give her a cuddle.
”We’ve never seen a cat, or dog for that mater, like her and we’ll be sad to see her go.”
Bette is one of dozens of cats currently waiting to be re-homed at the centre in Plymouth, Devon.
If I lived in Devon, I’d adopt that gorgeous heart-marked kitty in a minute. I’m in the U.S.A. and I’m going to start looking for another cat with unique markings. I really do hope that “Bette Davis” gets a wonderful hom.
I had a cat that looked exactly like her and she disappeared soon after we bought our house.
