3 Tips for Significantly Boosting Productivity at Your Workplace

Anybody who said being productive at work is easy was either lying or hiding a secret.

Yes, your employees may be coming to the office daily and finishing off their daily chores, but are they as productive as they can be?

Maybe or maybe not! There’s no device that can tell the truth.

However, you can feel it in the vibes. And if such a vibe has started affecting your workplace, we know what you can do.

So, buckle up & check out these three tips that’ll help you boost productivity at your workplace.

1. Multiple Short Breaks > Few Long Breaks

Some may argue, but studies prove that multiple short breaks over a few long breaks make people happier and help sustain productivity. And it holds true whether it’s about holidays or everyday work breaks.

Clearly, that reasons enough for you to encourage your employees to have multiple short breaks instead of taking a few long breaks.

Although, it shouldn’t be enforced on them, as some of them may still like the longer breaks. However, if you have employees who feel the need for having frequent breaks, if it’s boosting their work productivity, it’ll be better to let them free.

Note: If you allow your employees to have frequent breaks, you’ll also need to make sure that their overall break time doesn’t exceed the break limit.

2. Discourage Multi-tasking

We know how many of our peers boast about being professional multi-taskers who can handle a bunch of tasks at the same time. Honestly, you should make sure that your employees aren’t getting inspired from that.

Yes, it sounds cool. Yes, with a multi-tasking session, a person may get a number of tasks done (at least for the time being). However, when work quality and productivity are concerned, multi-tasking is the best killer.

It distracts individuals from giving their best at any of the tasks that they are trying to handle at the same time.

So, make your employees aware of this knowledge and save them from spoiling their work habits.

3. Train Your Employees To Be Productive

Yes, it may sound odd, but it’s very much possible. Also, you don’t have to have an attitude of a nagging headmaster. It can be done maturely.

To start with, start tracking employee performance. Some of your employees may be working more efficiently than the others, and that’s okay. We are trying to correct that only.

In the next step, you’ll need to design a small program for training your employees.

Speaking of what the training module should consist of, here’s a small list of essential workplace skills that boost productivity and you can focus on.

  • Stress Management
  • Teamwork
  • Time Management
  • Leadership
  • Commitment to Deadlines
  • Office discipline and compliance

Although these skills are generally a part of the employee onboarding process, it won’t harm to focus on them now as well.

If you are in doubt about how to implement this training program, qualified learning management systems and authoring tools can significantly help. Just make sure you spend some time in LMS and eLearning authoring tools comparison.

Final words

Ensuring and maintaining workplace productivity is one of the biggest challenges that companies of this generation generally have to face. And it makes sense. It’s a smart world that’s using one piece of technology or the other at most times. That makes distraction more prevalent than ever.

But can we let it go? Certainly not! It’s crucial to work on it and make sure that workplace productivity and discipline is maintained. And in this post, we talked about how that can happen.

Hopefully, this was helpful.
