Britain’s biggest James Bond fan has dedicated his life to watching every 007 movie at least 10 times each – the equivalent of 19 DAYS.
Mega-fan Mick Corfield, 52, was so nervous before watching the new blockbuster Skyfall that he even popped TABLETS before the screening to prevent him suffering tension headaches.
Before the latest instalment of the world’s most famous spy, Mick, a former cinema projectionist from Quinton, Birmingham, had watched all 22 Bond films around 10 times each – a total of 460 hours or 19 days.
He has even met six of the James Bond’s after attending ever single 007 premiere since 1983 but reckons Daniel Craig is getting “too old” to carry on the role much longer.
And he was one of the first people in Britain to watch the new film after being invited to a promotional screening at London’s 1,600 seater flagship Leicester Square Odeon.
He said: “Sean Connery was the governor, but his films are dated – though I know a lot of people will disagree.
“Having met them all, Timothy Dalton is the bloke I would want to share a drink with.
“Pierce Brosnan was the nicest. George Lazenby the strangest. Roger Moore the biggest personality, but not a great actor.
“Daniel Craig is a proper actor and very fit, but he’s small and his face seems to be ageing fast.
“I think Skyfall is a brilliant drama and it’s in my top five along with On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, Casino Royale, The Spy Who Loved Me and Licence to Kill.
“I just wish it had one of those moments where you think: ‘My God… did I really just see that’.
“I also don’t think it’s for children – my son, William, 12, will probably be quite bored by it.
“It’s harder edged and I don’t think there’s enough enjoyable things in it to keep a 12-year-old boy interested.
“To their credit, I think they’ve made this story for Bond fans and they have really delivered for the 50th anniversary and I can’t wait to see it again.
“I looked up to James Bond when I was four. I didn’t grow up with a dad so saw the character as a father figure.
“I realise now that perhaps he’s not the best role model I could have chosen.
“I’m just a normal bloke who loves football, booze and Bond.
“And my favourite Bond girls? Diana Rigg, Eva Green and Barbara Bach.”
Skyfall goes on general release on Friday.
