A youth ambassador pictured being patted on the back by Prince Charles who congratulated him for helping young people find work is a JOBLESS THUG, it was revealed today.
Kirt Tabberer, 22, has rubbed shoulders with the rich and famous including David Cameron, Will.i.am and Ant and Dec for his work as a jobs ambassador with the Prince’s Trust.
But yesterday it emerged Tabberer tried to attack a police officer during a street brawl when his mother was being arrested for kicking a PC in the groin.
But he was spared jail after a court heard he regularly “meets with Prince Charles and David Cameron” to help young people find employment.
Earlier this year Tabberer was snapped alongside Prince Charles at the launch of the Prince’s Trust ‘Let’s get to work’ initiative.
Last Friday Tabberer, who is on unemployment benefits himself, pleaded guilty to a section four public order offence.
He admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour causing fear of unlawful violence when he appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court.
He was fined £60 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
The court heard he was out with his mum Tracy who was celebrating her 47th birthday on Saturday, August 3, when violence erupted inside the Westcroft pub in Droitwich, Worcs.
The police were called when Tracy had a blazing row with her partner David Halsall.
When officers arrived Mr Halsall had blood on his face.
Prosecutor Kerry Brookes told the court Tracy and her family were “drunk, agitated and aggressive” when PC Richard Rees tried to intervene.
She said: “She (Tracy) proceeded to kick him (PC Rees) with full force to the groin, causing severe pain.”
Tracy’s nephew Ryan Bearcroft, 19, then spat at PC Rees who used CS spray to defend himself.
Bearcroft, who was “eight out of 10” on a scale of drunkenness, then started kicking two police cars, the court was told.
He damaged a light on one patrol car and ripped the wing mirror off another.
Mrs Brookes told the court: “PC Rees has taken hold of Tracy Tabberer to arrest her for the earlier assault and she dug her nails into him causing scratches to his forearm.
“Kirt Tabberer then ran towards PC Rees with his fist raised as if he was going to punch the officer and shouted: ‘Don’t you touch her.'”
Paul Stanley, defending, told the court Tabberer was a jobs ambassador despite being unemployed.
He said: “He’s on benefits but has done a great deal of voluntary work. He is part of the Prince’s Trust and was the country’s first jobs ambassador.
“He’s a young man who meets with Prince Charles and David Cameron.
“He suffered bullying at school and has turned his life around.”
The court heard Tracy, who had suffered a heart attack in May, had previously received a caution for assaulting a police officer in January 2004.
She was fined £110 for assault and ordered to pay £125 compensation to PC Rees as well as £85 court costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
Speaking from her home which she shares with her son in Droitwich, Worcs., she said: “He’s done really well. Everyone said he was going to be a no-hoper but he proved them all wrong.”
Bearcroft, a self-employed painter and decorator, was fined £75 for spitting at PC Rees, fined £220 for damaging two police cars, ordered to pay £50 compensation to the officer.
He was also ordered to pay £85 court costs and a #20 victim surcharge.
