X Factor boss Simon Cowell has been lauded by a group of American evangelical Christians, who have compared him to a modern-day Jesus.

X Factor’s Simon Cowell is the new Jesus, say American evangelical Christians

The official magazine for the Assemblies of God church has Simon on the cover under the headline ‘The Cowell Factor.’

Inside it reads: “Jesus, the one we think of as being meek and mild, gentle and loving and full of compassion, had the ability to talk tough. For some his words were hard to swallow – just like Cowell’s – but he spoke truth and doesn’t that hurt sometimes?

“Simon Cowell takes, learns from them and grows in the process, and there are numerous stories in the Bible of people who do the same.”

The church lists ‘the second coming of Christ’ as one of their key beliefs on their website, saying: “Believers must rest in the certainty of the imminent return of our Lord and share this hope with others.”

Every time you think you have heard the ultimate in moronic ideas from theists, something like this happens to show you that you “ain’t hear nothin’ yet!”

Some group or person will show us that theists can be a LOT more ignorant than we thought.

[con’t: He is a critic. I can go to a Role Play forum, and talk to an admin the wrong way, and have the same effect with Simon Cowel. Strict justice. It’s happening all over the net, along with trolls getting smarter. I doubt simon, a bonefied troll, can be the messiah. What are these people on? P_-]

lol i love how that twists what was written to make christians sound crazy.

the article implies they think that simon cowell is the second comming… err no that’s completely out of context. Surely its just saying that he is “like” Jesus in some ways.

a similar argument would be: bacon sandwiches are tasty. I believe i’ll have sandwhiches again. This banana is tasty… QED its a bacon sandwhich.

    gah stupid stupid stupid.
