An 81-year-old woman has died shortly after three men carried out a burglary at her home, police revealed today.
The frail pensioner, who has not been named, complained of feeling unwell following the burglary at her home in Stoke Bishop, Bristol, at 3.30am on Tuesday.
She was taken to hospital where she died on Tuesday night. Police arrested three men on suspicion of burglary and they are currently being interviewed in custody.
A police spokeswoman revealed yesterday (Weds) that a post mortem examination will now be carried out to determine the cause of the woman’s death.
She said: ”The three men have been arrested on suspicion of burglary and are currently being questioned.
”We are not going into any more details at the moment until the results of the post mortem examination are returned.”
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
