One of the scientists behind Viagra has announced a new wonder spray he claims can end premature ejaculation and make love-making last SIX TIMES longer.
Professor Mike Wyllie, 62, says the ‘Tempe’ spray had an 85 per cent satisfaction rating in clinical trials – prolonging ejaculation by six minutes.
Trial runs with the spray, contained in a pocket-sized aerosol can, found it took five minutes to work and lasted up to two hours.
Premature ejaculation is thought to affect at least one in four men and can wreck relationships.
Prof Wyllie said: “It took us seven years and cost us about £65million, but we came up with a solution.
“The Tempe spray slows down the rate of ejaculation.
“In clinical trials the point of ejaculation was prolonged to about six minutes and in the long run this could become seven to eight minutes.
“If you get a patient satisfaction of 50 per in clinical trials, that is quite good, but with the spray we found we got more than 85 per cent satisfaction.
“In some cases there was even a great reluctance to give the spare medication back.
spray.”
Scots-based Prof Wyllie, a father-of-three, is a founding member of Plethora Solutions who first developed Viagra.
He added: “It all started with the development of Viagra.
“We had a lot of people writing in and saying that we had fixed one problem, but that some of them still suffered from premature ejaculation.
“Premature ejaculation doesn’t just make the patient feel bad, it affects the partner and can completely destroy relationships. I feel this could save relationships.
“Sex is not just about how long it lasts, but that the sexual satisfaction for the patient and the partner improve.”
Clinical trials with 300 men found 90 per cent were able to delay ejaculation for more than one minute after vaginal penetration and 74 per cent lasted more than two minutes.
The number of patients who rated the quality of their orgasm as good or very good increased from 20 per cent to 62 per cent after treatment with the spray.
Professor Wallace Dinsmore of the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast, said: “The men who were prescribed the Tempe spray managed to delay ejaculation by just under an extra four minutes after using the product.
“Meanwhile the control group, who were prescribed a dummy spray, increased their penetration to ejaculation time by just over 40 seconds.
“The encouraging data from this phase III study suggests that the spray has the potential to offer a convenient, novel treatment for men with premature ejaculation and might be useful as a first-line treatment for the condition.”
The spray, which comes in a pocket-sized can, has been judged safe and effective and developers are hoping it will be rubber-stamped by the European Medicines Agency in the next few weeks.
The treatment is expected to be available by private prescription next year, but could be judged cheap enough in the long-run to be prescribed to some men on the NHS.
John Dean, a past president of the International Society for Sexual Medicine, said: “Whilst premature ejaculation is not a life-threatening condition, its consequences can be serious.
“This is a chronic, debilitating problem affecting both men and their partners.”
I sincerely prefer natural pills. For example ForsamaxUSA is a good option because ingredients used are natural. It’s the famous Brazilian formula that becomes a pill, ready to have good sex intercourse. Forsamax is aphrodisiac and helps with irrigation in penis, that’s all. Ideal for stressed people like me!!!
PROMESCENT made by Absorption Pharmaceuticals just launched in the USA. People are raving about it and should be available in Europe without prescription in 2014.
