Taxis are carrying stickers saying ‘No Smoking. No Eating. No Trafficking People’ in a new campaign.
The signs have appeared on cabs in Folkestone, Kent which is in the frontline of people trafficking into Britain.
Campaigner Jan Doyle said: “There are lots of opportunities for people to traffic through our ports, which is why this campaign is so important.
“We’re keen to raise awareness, so if people see something unusual, they think about reporting it. The stickers are literally there as a reminder to people that this is going on.”
David Woods from Folkestone Taxis said: “If we can stop one person being trafficked as a result of this campaign, then I think we’ve done a good day’s work.”
