A suspected killer left a bizarre Facebook post hours after a mother and son were found brutally murdered at their home.
Sally Cox, 43, and her son Martin Faulkner, 22, were found at their end of terrace home early yesterday morning following the horrific axe attack.
Mrs Cox’s 19-year-old daughter Amy was also injured and remains in an undisclosed hospital while younger daughter Katie, 13, escaped unharmed from the attack in Banbury, Oxfordshire.
It is believed Martin died while trying to protect his mother.
Michael Kelly, who was in a relationship with Mrs Cox, was later arrested on suspicion of murder when armed cops swooped on an address in Swindon, Wiltshire.
The night before Mrs Cox died, Kelly wrote on his Facebook page: “Tonight has changed my life forever! You know who you are, thanks, dear!”
Then hours after the double killing, 45-year-old Kelly wrote: ‘What a lovely job. Still someone’s got to do it.’
It’s believed Mr Kelly and Mrs Cox moved into a three-bedroom rented house on Mold Crescent in Banbury at the beginning of the year after meeting on Facebook.
One neighbour, who did not want to be named, told the BBC: “All we’ve heard is there’s been a murder and an axe was involved.
“It’s a very quiet street really. I never hear of any trouble.”
