Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard will miss the next four weeks after undergoing groin surgery.
The midfielder struggled though Sunday’s victory against Man United but didn’t travel to Portugal for last night’s Europa Cup defeat to SC Braga.
Liverpool today confirmed that after a consultation with a specialist, it was decided surgery was the best option with the operation succesfully carried out.
Gerrard will miss the next three matches for Liverpool along with England’s Euro qualifier against Wales later this month.
If the influential star’s rehabilitation is successful, he will be fit to face Manchester City at Anfield on April 11.
