A smirking rapist has finally been caged after he went on the run after attacking a woman he met in a pub.
Rory Campbell was drinking in a pub with friends when his group met his 27-year-old victim.
They all went back to a nearby flat in New Cross, south east London, where she was attacked.
After arriving at the flat, the victim realised that she was drunk and tired, and was led to a bedroom where she lay down.
Shortly before 3am on June 12 last year, Campbell approached the victim as she lay on the bed, ripped off her shorts and raped her.
The 25-year-old shop worker then went on the run but was finally caught by police and was arrested in February 2016.
When arrested Campbell was found to have cocaine and a knife and in his police mug shot, Campbell is snapped smirking to himself.
He denied rape but was found guilty at Woolwich Crown Court on September 5 and was jailed for seven-and-a-half years.
In addition to his jail sentence, he will be on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
