Formula One legend Jackie Stewart has collapsed on a flight back to the UK from the Geneva Motor Show, according to reports.
The 71-year-old motorsport ace is said to have collapsed mid-flight after complaining of chest pains and was taken off the plane by paramedics.
Eyewitnesses say three-time F1 World Champion Stewart got up to visit the toilet while on the short flight from Switzerland to London Heathrow Airport – but did not return to his seat.
The pilot later asked if anyone on board the flight had any medical experience.
Stewart was conscious and sitting up when the plane landed this lunchtime and was taken from the aircraft by awaiting paramedics.
A spokesperson for Heathrow Airport refused to comment.
