Signed Tottenham Hotspur, Wolves, Southampton and Bradford City shirts are being auctioned off in memory of tragic footballer Dean Richards who passed away last weekend at the age of just 36.
The English centre-half lost his battle with a long-term illness which forced him to retire from the game in 2005.
Representatives from his former clubs were at Molineux on Sunday for the Wolves v Tottenham Hotspur match to pay tribute to Richards and reveal the signed shirts.
Ledley King represented Spurs alongside ex-Southampton defender Claus Lundekvam, ex-Wolves goalkeeper and Wolves Community Trust Ambassador Matt Murray and joint Chairman of Bradford City Mark Lawn.
Each shirt was signed by the clubs’ current squad members with all four now being auctioned off on Wolves’ eBay website.
The Spurs shirt is currently at £1,380 following 38 bids while the Southampton shirt is at £1,070. The Wolves and Bradford City shirts are at £1,020 and £615 respectively with the auction closing on Thursday March 17.
All proceeds from the shirt sales will be donated via Wolves Official Charity – Wolves Community Trust – to St. Gemma’s Hospice in Leeds where the tragic centre-half passed away.
