Residents in a posh suburb were horrified today after a sex club opened in a £500,000 townhouse – opposite a primary school.
The Libertease Sex Club overlooks the playground at Christ Church C of E School in upmarket Clifton, Bristol.
It offers swinging sessions, fetish parties and ‘taster afternoons’ and boasts a sex dungeon including a cross, stocks, wall chains and restraints.
The parties – for members and by invitation only – cost £15 to attend and run from 9am to 2pm. Upcoming theme nights including Valentine Vamps and Greedy Girls.
It is believed to be owned by Dominic White, who also lives at the stylish address in Royal Park.
On Tuesdays between 1pm and 7pm the club also offers a £25 ‘Tease’ afternoon where members can ”socialise, dress up and perhaps get make up from from one of the Libertease girls”. The price includes tea and a buffet.
The club, which opened last month, does not have an alcohol licence so guests are invited to bring their own drinks.
Neighbours said they were shocked by the the opening and had noticed an increase in people visiting the flat – as well as hearing loud noises.
A 25-year-old resident, who did not want to be named, said: ”About two weeks ago one Saturday night I saw a girl leaving and she seemed quite drunk.
”It was about 10pm and she was wearing a large overcoat but it was clear she had sexy lingerie on underneath.
”| said to my flat mate that it seemed like some sort of fetish night or something.”
Another resident, in her 60s, said she was very concerned over the effect the club would have on the quiet street.
Headteacher of the school Louisa Wathan did not wish to comment on the club.
Vice chairman of the school’s board of governors Simon Talbot-Ponsonby said: ”The first we heard of it was in the press.
”I had a phonecall from the school informing me of this. Our headteacher had decided not to comment further so I will too.”
A website group, set up for those interested in the club, had 157 members yesterday.
An introduction to the club on the webpage said: ”Clifton Libertease is an adult swinging/swingers group that meets on a regular basis in a secluded Clifton townhouse.
”We also hold Fetish and TV/CD parties for the more adventurous.”
It is understood Mr White may now be required to apply for a change of use licence if the residential building continues to be used as business premises.
Bristol City Council said it was investigating.
I thought £25 quid was a bit steep … until I read tea and a buffet were included. Good value I would say!
