Movie star Russell Crowe saw the funny side after being the subject of an April Fool’s gag.
Pranksters at Bristol City FC published a picture of the Hollywood hardman wearing a club tracksuit alongside manager Keith Millen at the training ground.
The stunt, mocked up by supporter Huw Griffiths, claimed that Crowe – a keen City fan – had flown in to meet the players and watch them train.
It alleged he also took time to share his ”surprising knowledge” of the Championship outfit’s history and season so far.
Many supporters were taken it by the stunt, but Crowe saw the funny side after a City fan showed it to him in Los Angeles.
Crowe, 46, tweeted: ”Enjoyed my visit with [Bristol City] today. Good lads, keep it going. Thanks for the tracksuit.”
