A design company has stunned the industry by scooping FOUR top awards at the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design.
Robert Welch Designs won the awards for its storage jars, scissors and stand, cookbook and tablet stand and steak knives.
The award is one of the most coveted in the design world, with thousands of entries every year.
The company said each of the four products has been designed with great attention to aesthetic detail as well as a keen eye on function and usability.
Adding to the multi-award-winning Signature Kitchen Collection, the Signature Cookbook and Tablet Stand supports books and recipe cards as well as iPads and tablets, allowing for hands free use in the kitchen.
Shatterproof, stackable and fully food safe, the Signature Storage Jars are made from cutting edge BPA free Eastman Tritan™ copolyester. The elliptical lid seals tightly and features stainless steel detailing.
Signature Household Scissors have a uniquely shaped handle for a comfortable grip. Micro-serrated, hollow ground blades ensure superior sharpness compared to other household scissors. The ABS Stand provides attractive counter-top storage for convenient access.
Inspired by traditional riveted cutlery, Contour Steak Knives are as beautiful as they are sharp. The hand finished, oiled walnut handles provide a contemporary twist on a timeless classic.
A Robert Welch spokesman said: ‘It is no understatement that this achievement is beyond all expectations. To win a single GOOD DESIGN award is a great honour, but to receive four is unprecedented. It’s great to see our Signature Kitchen Collection being recognised by a panel of global design enthusiasts and experts and underlines all we stand for at Robert Welch Designs.’
The company was founded in the 1950s by Robert Welch, who died in 2000. They have stores in Bath and Chipping Campden.
